Its kind of like person you love situation. You love it no matter the flaws, which imo can be found in 1 or 2 songs max, whicu is an easily ignorable flaw

Yeah but that's not really how good review writing works.
It's impossible to be completely objective about music, but it's also impossible to be any more subjective than you have been here.
I'm just saying, especially since I've just noticed you've posted yet another review giving 5 stars to an album just because you like it, that you consider things a little more objectively when writing. Especially when you're obviously capable of realising flaws in albums because you do mention them.
Just a tip for future writing. Keep it up.

I actually think you're right. I certianly am way too biased in these two 5 star review, and I guess I have to look from a different stand point. Tho I still stand by my points, I won't be ignorant. Thanks for your feedback, I'll try to construct more objective reviews in the future

Glad to hear it. My first recommendation would be to read other reviews of albums you like and just see what sort of things they talk about, how they construct their arguments, that sort of thing.
It can be a bit daunting to start, especially when you realise the need for objectivity. Try not to panic though, your opinion is ultimately the guiding light. That doesn't change. Just consider things like where it fits in its genre, how it compares to genre classics (remember they only became classics because enough people objectively liked them!) and what it does in terms of songwriting – for example, if it's repetitive and that's a problem, then talk about that.
It's more about proving why your opinion is valid using considered and researched points, less so trying to to find the "right" opinion from the aether of objectivity.

this band is literally just a shitty knock off of Nickelback, who in turn is a shitty knock off of any average grunge band.

@Scoop: it'd be a 4 if "Bad Girlfriend" and "Hate My Life" didn't exist, to be fair.

>If this is misogynist then so is Under Soil and Dirt and people love that album. Lol
I mean that's a valid criticism, same with Glassjaw's first album. I really like both of them but I'm not going to just disregard the blatant misogyny and gaslight the people who bring it up. It's a problem for sure.

Yeah, I get what you mean. You can compare this to the lyricism of "Wake Up Call" for example, and see that getting older has a tendency to make guys like this much less spiteful towards people that fucked them over tbh. I'd say with the lyrics here, it's mostly anger directed at failed relationships, as is with the two examples I gave. And with Glassjaw's debut, Daryl himself agreed that it was over the top afterwards, but you're not always rational after some shit like that happens so I think we can give this stuff a pass unless they STAY spiteful assholes.

I mean I think that's part of the appeal though. EYEWTKAS, to me, is from the perspective of an angry teenager/early 20-something. If Daryl still felt that way we'd be having a very different discussion, but I think that album is purely a screenshot of that time in his life.
