Yeah, no... Still a huge letdown and disappointment, especially in comparison to (What's The Story) Morning Glory? and even the overrated Definitely, Maybe. I get that everyone is entitled to their opinion, but this album is regarded as the album that put the final nail in the coffin for the popularity of Britpop in the 90s. It was a disaster and it only had the record-breaking UK sells for the week it came out because everyone was expecting (What's The Story) Morning Glory?. Even critics were heralding it as the next Sgt. Peppers at one. The hype and the expectations for this album can only be matched by a few albums in the history of Rock and Roll, so when everyone realized that this album was just mediocre coke-binge trash, they tossed it into the rubbish where it rightfully belongs.
The album is a bad attempt at Oasis trying to recreate the White Album or Abbey Road (insert an influential Beatles album), and this band came to relevancy because they were seen as a legit second coming of the Beatles at the time by music critics and rock music listeners.

I do think that it was incredibly silly to give such glowing reviews of the album at that time. The reason why I gave it a 5 was because I just don't let those high expectations bother me. I completely understand why it's a disappointment. Their ego got the best of them, for sure, but I have always liked this album, way before I ever found out how hated it was or its context.
