Jason just isn't a clever enough lyricist for this kind of work. His actual vocal performances are phenomenal (I don't even mind his rapping all that much tbh) but the actual lyrical content is always so on the nose and corny.
What seems clear to me is that these guys would be a hell of a lot of fun to see live. They're clearly trying to write songs that a crowd can learn within a minute and scream along to. It's just that the recordings have no substance and are way too cleanly produced to feel even remotely edgy or revolutionary.

It's mediocre and dependent on how much you like Linkin Park & 00s rap rock

I don't understand how they managed to make something worse than the EP which was already not good at all.

I thought this was fine tbh. sure the lyrics and sometimes the rapping are cringe, but I'll admit he's got the energy.

oh he's got so much energy. I'd definitely catch these guys live just to see Jason go ape on stage again.

His cleans sound really good and some of the screams are just what I want from him. unfortunately the project as a whole is just so...ugh. I'll finish this later. I turned on Renegade and I don't wanna go back

yeah the songwriting for the most part is pretty piss poor

there's a lot going to for this but that's definitely one of the main things holding this back

Amazing review, I was going insane thinking I'm the only one who feels like this. Such a disappointing project overall.

" On paper, Jason Butler fronting a band consisting of the Chariot’s guitarist and Night Verses drummer sounds like it should be outstanding, but by any means it is not. "

I think this sums it up pretty well. But if you can somehow put away that expectation, it is fun. Nothing deep, nothing overly artistic. You can cleary see that they went for more simple song-writing with the intention to reach more people with their message (especially through their insane live shows). That being said, Inglewood sucks bad and Jason (who really stepped up his vocal game especially the cleans live) just should stop using fucking autotune.
