I felt almost nothing listening to this honestly, there's no magic. Cool artwork though.

Into the Labyrinth is the main essential of theirs post-Serpent’s Egg. Maybe Anastasis too, both are really well made and rewarding.

This is great but I don’t get much of an emotional reaction from it like a lot of their others. It’s also not as memorable, but I do really like the style and the instrumentation.

Yeah this is pleasant to listen to but it's missing something to make it more engrossing or special. I don't feel like it's doing anything particularly interesting with all the influences it brings together.

It's pleasant but it's just hollow. I'll have to listen again.

This reveals more on repeated listens, but it does sound kinda hollow overall. Also they haven't really been that goth since Into the Labyrinth right? Maybe Anastasis was sort of goth but they've seemed to really embrace the African ritualistic music/Middle Eastern mantras a lot.

Yeah a bit too late to complain about them not being goth. They abandoned that path in the 80s. I think this is good for what it is, they sound like they are having a good time.

"after they betrayed the goth scene...."

Do you use the word "poser" a lot? I feel like you do.

In fact, they always rejected the "goth" tag (and tbh, i never understood why they were considered a goth band)
