John Stewart was Slauter Xstroyes' vocalist who had passed away this year. The band members were fans of theirs so it's understandable.

I've been enjoying the album so far, I dig their Canadian thrash meets King Diamond sound. I bet the singer has a King tattoo

I don't mind high pitched vocals in metal, but I feel like this guy got a jackhammer to the nads for a full hour before heading into the vocal booth.

The vox can indeed be an acquired taste bloc but if you're a King Diamond fan, they're not much of a problem.
Hope you enjoy, Dewi!
