This is actually one of Alex's best performances, comparatively speaking.

Too bad the songwriting itself seems a tad on the more manufactured side.

So this is basically Lead Sails pt 2? Not necessarily a bad thing for me, I might check out later.

"There’s no denying that In Our Wake is definitely an Atreyu record, but it’s the album’s title perturbed title that begs a bigger question. After making a comeback of sorts with Long Live but three years ago, the group’s question of “who will we leave in our wake"” stands to tug at the very heartstrings of the fans that grew up listening to the angst driven The Curse and A Death-Grip On Yesterday only to be met with the most formulaic metalcore unbecoming of that particular fan base."

how do you even arrive to this conclusion when their lyrics are about the world and not about themselves? this does not believably reflect Atreyu

this review saddened me to the point of not even wanting to listen to the album

(to be clear, this is not a knock on the review itself)

how do you even arrive to this conclusion...

Probably a fair question. There’s a couple of interview sources here that should probably referenced etc. Basically the band mentions the deaths of Cornell and Bennington and the legacy they left for their fans and family, especially considering how a few of the members are fathers now. Expanding on how they “made a concept album” without even really trying.

Alex is liable to say anything tbh lol. He said they've been a band for 15 years in a 2018 interview but he may have been fucking with the interviewer since they weren't good at their job

this album is exactly LSPA which means that they are going for the star wars rings theory (since long live was congregation)

that means were about to get a second golden age of atreyu fellas... mount up!!!

It could be argued that In Our Wake is a natural progression of sound, experimenting on the metalcore roots formed back in the early 2000s.

who would say this about atreyu? what a bizarrely fraudulent thought lol

I just read an article in which the vocalist claims his band invented metalcore. :D

This isn't that bad. There are some strong songs. Some a bit average but the good ones make it far better than a 1.5.
