Beyond Creation was pretty good live. Archspire is a weird band

Archspire was my personal highlight of that tour but Ive had a hard-on for their music before they really made it big, and seeing them live again was a solid 4 years in the making.

I always think I should like BC way more then I do. Even seeing them on that recent tour bored me. This album is awesome though. Definitely their best since Cosmogenesis.

Damn thought this had a review already.

Only heard it once and forgot about it, but it wasn't bad. I'd give it between a 3 and 3.5 for now. It is def their weakest album.

It does now, and definitely their weakest release

I dig the style of this album, especially the quick riffs and robotic vocals, feels like throwback to Cosmogenesis a bit.

Agreed, I thought the same thing about the vocoded bits. I always liked when they did that stuff.

I though Omnivium is their least interesting. This album has 4 awesome songs? Everything else eh ok

I've only heard each once, but I would choose new BC over this

How anyone can find this boring is beyond me. This really doesn't feel stale or uninspired to me. Quite the opposite actually.

I actually reallyreally dug this, the auto-tuned vox is a bit odd but I think the second half of the record is really strong, I give it a strong 4/5, nearly a 4.5/5

I think it's a vocoder, not auto tune

also, I very much agree with this, this record feels very much alive and thriving, like every track to some extent I think

Glad you mention that because I really enjoyed the last album he put out and this is a bit too melodic and *yawn* at many parts

I have several issues with this review. I expect more thorough reviews from Sputnik, but lately it's hard to tell this site apart from Metallium. I am not convinced you heard this album more than once. Some really concrete examples of what works and what doesn't might help, and the confusing metaphors don't add to the piece - it just confuses it.

I think this album is in line with the rest of their work - their odd vocal effect which you referenced has been used on several of their records and is a direct quote of 1990's Cynic and their groundbreaking album, Focus. If you really feel this is a step down from their last record, I wish you would've explained why in more than a sentence.
