For sure. Leave It manages to be both though, what a tremendous song... of all his perfect tracks, it's probably still his best in my book

Nailed it. I'm curious how this would be for anyone's first with The Field; for me, the context of everything that came before is impossible to ignore, but it's all part of the appeal here and somehow exactly what I needed from this

Yeah, would be nice to know. From Here We Go Sublime was my first. Great record, but I like his second even more.
This is growing on me with each listen, like usual with his releases. So many details which you overlook at first, like the vintage sounding ending of Hear Your Voice. I'm already sure it needs a +.5!

Absolutely, I think Divide Now was the only track I immediately loved, but it was all I needed to keep me coming back to start sinking deeper into the rest. It might still might be my favorite here anyway, what a wonderful ride

Great up to Hear Your Voice but the rest isn't very compelling unfortunately. He doesn't end his albums well.
