i think i know which part of Image of Control you're talking about, there's this wonderful drumming about halfway through

yeah around there or the last third i’m not sure. it’s ridiculous how good of a drummer nick yacyshyn is and even more insane his main band is essentially a converge rip off from what i’ve heard

i said as much in my review for the newest Baptists, haha, Nick's talents are kind of wasted in that band

yeah that was such a well written review despite not much to be said. their guitar tone is so similar there has been a few times where spotify starts playing an artist’s radio and a baptists song comes on and I immediately think it’s converge. nick’s new band erosion doesn’t sound like anything really special either unfortunately.

I will for sure. I listened to The Deal when it came out, but wasn't really into sludge that much yet.
|

I honestly haven't really given The Deal a fair shot yet, but What One Becomes is an incredible record

Jammed The Deal earlier. Really solid. Probably a 3.5 on first listen. About 3/4 of the way through What One Becomes and it took a minute to pull me in but its so good. Clutch of Oblivion II is superb.

I absolutely loved WOB but this took me a bit more spins to enjoy. Once your in the right mood for it, it def hits the spot especially on those improv-like/jammy feel sections
