Why is this album so underrated? Every time I listen to it I think it's possibly top 3 for the band, every track is incredibly catchy and it's still the dark gothic sound PL is known for, just with a different method of expression. It's ABSURDLY good, crazy how well they pulled this synth pop / goth rock sound off.

Listening to the remastered version right now, and my opinion for this album is shifting.
It's classic Paradise Lost (== metal Depeche Mode from a point forward), with the metal guitar distortion omitted.

The run from Permanent Solution to Deep is such a string of bops.

Might give the remastered release a shot. If it's anything like their remix for Believe in Nothing then it will be a big improvement.
I get why people might like this, but... eh.
It's good, but it's nothing to scream from the mountaintops about imho.

The music does have some Depeche Mode vibes. His voice sounds like the DM singer here and there. This is just not an impressive album. His voice is good at times. Once again, no bad songs
