Also I was just fucking around. I personally don't believe Zep actually plagiarized anything, just amplified existing ideas. I just found it ironic that a band that has been accused repeatedly of being a plagiarist, was being plagiarized.

It's the same shit that happened back in the 2000's, after American Idiot all the Punk bands kept peddling the same anti-Bush dogshit over and over again ad nauseum to the point where it stopped being interesting and started being irritating. It's even worse now because shit like bandcamp, spotify, and youtube have amplified the shit of even the most invisible college indie acts. Add that it's not just Punk doing this now but every fucking genre under the sun and you get everybody screaming the same played out vaginal discharge because that's the most creative any of these hacks will ever get.



It doesn't matter if your instrumentation is godly when you're lyrics are so redundant and over spoken by every other act around that I start thinking you used a "Political Lyric Generator" instead of using your brain.

I feel ya. I was being slightly sarcastic. I honestly shoulda said "Anti-Capitalist" not communist.

I just looked at the Otep description and my god,that looks like it was written by a five year old.

I'm going to give the album a listen but i haven't really followed Otep since the early 2000's.

Four songs deep and i'm pretty sure i can't listen to an hour of this.

I am just...NOT feeling this at all.

This album is goddamn terrible, but that opener was just insufferable. Taking an Otep album in 2018 and treating it as a harbinger of heavy music as a whole is asinine.

If only Mikael Akerfeldt could sue the band for making a semi-palindrome of his band

Cross Contamination and To The Gallows are fucking sweet. Trigger Warning is really catchy too. The rest is a bit bland on first listen but at least it's more consistent than the last album.

Why is this allowed to be a thing? Band needs to change or just stop.
