Last 3 songs on here don't outshine a single second of Humanz tbh. "Fire Flies" will prob be added to my "Most Boring Songs of 2018" list

Yeah idk, just sounds like the same song on repeat to me. Production makes this homogenic af. No especially good hooks or unique sounding songs.

agreed...it's a nice album to play by the pool on a 99 degree day though - just has a calming effect

Yeah I don't mind it as background music. It's nice and all, but actively listening is a chore for me

you may be right. didn't strike me as anything amazing either but gorillaz never have, and this is probably the nicest they've sounded since PB

This is nice, just a little tepid at points but much stronger than Humanz. Great for summer listening.

It's been a long time since the 'rillaz have amazed me but I did feel like this was their most consistent record since like Demon Days, tbh

sonically consistent, that is. I won't contest that some of the songs are boring and don't particularly leave me wanting to hear them again

but man, the highlights are hot

This gets a 3, same as Humanz. Humanz was messy and inconsistent and full of peaks and valleys... this is just one long stream of perfectly listenable Gorillaz-lite. Neither album is much worth returning to, sadly

Sadly doesn't do anything for me, just like the two that came before it. Too bland and everything sounds the same. Pity.

Damn that's one casual hot take, lol

At least on here. In the actual "Gorillaz fandom" back in the day saying Plastic Beach sucked would have been nothing major

Or you were just talking about The Fall
