Yeah, Silver Lining is a very poor opener and quite possibly the worst song here. But, seriously, there's plenty of contenders here as well. Plus the record doesn't help itself with songs like One Of The Drunks where it has such a terrible and strange production choice.

Feel kind of bad about rating the album but I honestly gave up after 3 songs.... Only reason I even gave it a shot is because I liked VaV and my gf used to really like them

I'm gonna come out here and say that the opener is actually one of the best songs on here because of it's infectious chorus and the fact that it actually has some energy and drive to it unlike most of this record. The middle of the album is where it falls apart (tracks 7, 8 and 9 are specifically forgettable and weak)

This album's reception doesn't surprise me. You pretty much can damn near parallel their career off of Fall Out Boy's

It doesn't feel right calling these guys 'Rock N' Roll' they really don't have the attitude. It's always been more like pop to me.

This album was just so bloated. Not to mention half the songs are just forgettable pop tracks with horns thrown at them. There were a decent amount of stellar tracks (hence my 3/5), but I'm glad a reviewer gave it a low score. The Metascore is so high (for what it is) and everyone doesn't seem to mind it aside from this site and a few others I've seen/talked to. Brendon is gonna take the criticism as fact and make another rushed project. Pretty sad considering how stellar DOAB was.
