@Silver Yeah, absolutely insane. Might jam this again in full, I like this side of Daisuke

A lot of people love the original of Sacred Place apparently, but Matryoshka have done way better imo. And yeah, that Ferri album. I'm not a huge fan (that track is easily one of the strongest), which is probably part of what threw me to find it here. He's credited with arrangement on the original, guess he felt involved enough to use it here

@Starless he's always done whatever the hell he wanted and hasn't pandered to the consensus surrounding masterpieces at all; I can respect that a lot

I respect it too, and overall for example 88 is actually one of my favorite works of his. But last few idk

I'm clearly alone in this, but imo Kashiwa hasn't fallen off at all. Not even a little bit. His last three releases are all amazing.

can't want to hear what he does next. He's the artist I'm most excited about rn.

i should amend that: it's not one of the two (and only ever two at the most) new japanese albums that's trending with western audiences at any given time.

right now i guess that's the new Gezan and Haru records?

Word. Two at most because it's either coincidentally Japanese and in a style trending at the time, or "wow this is so weird/different of course it's Japanese hurr" and there can't be more than one of each at a time

Envy and Tricot probably still, but I guess those two are runners up /Haru has maybe replaced one of them
