Well it’s more just like these two styles seem so separate that infusing them creates this feeling that they did it just for the sake of it, but maybe I’m wrong

that was actually kind of the inception of the project - to take conflicting musical styles and try to meld them thematically first, then musically second
younger me would have been like 'that's a bunch of bullshit' but i am really digging the idea and process behind creating this work

I'd say it does have a level of gimmickry to it -- slotting together styles like that -- but it's done surprisingly tastefully I find, and in places they intermingle better than I ever thought they could. Occasionally though the bm influences feel very much in the background and only there for the sake of it / not adding much, and that's when I think it's at its worst
