I'm so happy no one ruined what the callback in Evaporate was to before I heard it for the first time. Got me so excited.

Tfw ''Bloodsucker'' is not a Deep Purple cover.
Anyway, the drive and consistency of this band after all these years is pretty admirable. This is a solid 4/5 during first listen.
Looking forward to jamming this album a lot more over the coming weeks.

I need to give this some more listens, but right now it all feels so tailored to Tillian's parts... Even The Rattler, which is supposed to be an awesome song, gets destroyed by the bridge - which sounds like every goddamn Tillian part on the record (this one definitely belongs on a Secret Band Record).
Throughout the record, it is very clear to me that the band gets something going on a song and then has to abruptely bring on the clean glassy guitar just so Tillian can croon. It has been happening for a while since Acceptance Speech, but here it's overwhelmingly apparent.

Don't forget " I believe there's meaning, no I believe there's nothing" both from "Untitled" and "12 Hours, 630 Miles" from DBM

the band actually were planning on quitting after DBMII, but AS sold well, then IG sold 15,000 copies in its first week, Mothership sold over 19,000 copies in its first week, and who knows what the numbers will be for this one? I feel as though this might be the end of an era for DGD, and their next release will be the start of something new, seeing as the band frequently post in that swanposting group that they don't intend to stop anytime soon. review is perfect btw, haven't listened to this yet, but I got a feeling all the references to older material are more turning a new page than closing the book

I think the album is little too long, would have been better with 10 tracks, felt the same way with Mothership

ARS? Come on dude, you know even the band has coined the album as ArSe.
Good review though, I only first listened last night upon release - one of the few albums I've ever not listened to a leak. Lots more digging to do before I form a real opinion.
