Here's my Rosehall "quick takeaways" aka favorite moments. These are just little things I remember and love about each track followed by a score out of 5. This is shaping up to be one of my favorite records of the year, and it definitely has the most to offer in terms of lyrical depth/musical layering.
1. Dialogue - When the heavier, industrial bangs come in followed by the spoken words. Chilling. (Track Score: 4.5/5)
2. Selfish Heart - "Spare me the tears before they start", that whole chorus, section, and ahhh the whole song. Achingly beautiful. (Track Score: 5/5)
3. Fragile - The unexpectedly happy sounding handclaps in the beginning followed by the suddenly sad sounding guitars and wails (Track Score: 4/5)
4. Holy, Holy, Holy - The whole spoken section and the spacey sounding synths that pop up out of nowhere for a few seconds (4/5)
5. Sunday's Cool - The acoustic outro with the classical piano and saxaphone; so breathtaking and pure/pastoral sounding (5/5)
6. Vines - to quote verdant's soundoff: "kill the mother make the children suffer" *dance party ensues*(5/5)
7. Frost - all the natural/animal sounds and the spoken story (3/5)
8. Spiders - when those fucking badass electric guitars come in out of nowhere (5/5)
9. Love, I Swear It - Whole thing, I can't pick a moment...the falsetto vocals, pianos, guitars, sax...(5/5)

A lucid review in the year of our lord 2018 what a time to be alive
Saw your rec for this in my shoutbox and hated what I heard tbh but I'm definitely going to give it another try tonight

Yes Sowing! Agree with many of those highlights, wouldn't give any track below 4/5. Here's what sticks out for me on each song:
1. The first 'dream pop' intrusion, at which point you know this will be a special album.
2. Too good to be true. Best song and can't pick a moment.
3. Interpolation of that Radiohead lyric: I'm not here, but this is happening. Astute way to describe life passing you by.
4. Obviously the second time he sings the title (that synth part too, yes!).
5. The yelled counterpoints to the refrain (closing drift is gorgeous as well).
6. The way he curls around the phrase do you wanna play a game of denial? is unforgettable.
7. The spoken passage after the story is heart-wrenching. The industrial stabs.
8. Have I left the keys in my car? Does it even matter anymore? One of the best psych songs of the decade.
9. Homespun charm all over this one. Pure beauty in the closing crest.

Thank you so much everyone! Also @Lucid the line in fragile is immediately followed by another Radiohead reference 'I'm not living, but I'm not killing time' is a reference to True Love Waits. I guess I was just in a Radiohead-y mood the day I wrote that.

Can you imagine Timothy Charles & co with a professional studio at their disposal, produced by Vernon or something? If this has a weakness at all it's the at-times tin sounding production...can't wait to hear this band grow, progress, and unfurl with time...

god SowingSeason working with Vernon is such a pipe dream tbh. he is at SUCH a high level musically and lives on the other side of the world so I don't ever see it ever being more than a pipe dream though tbh :') both Ethan and I are massive fans, especially of his debut (very sweet that TFRIL was compared to it.) but yeah, I tried my best with the production but it was essentially my debut production-wise and was entirely recorded in bedrooms and my boyfriend's shed so the acoustics weren't great. I'd love to many places from here. tbh I'm just kinda unsure where to start if you get what I mean

Oh and just to be clear I did not mean that as too much of a criticism. The production exceeds what I'd expect from an independently released, bandcamp artist debut album. It's at times stunning. But obviously without everything at your disposal that some of the bigger artists out there possess, it would be impossible to realize the full potential of your sound the way that, as much of a pipedream as it may be, a Vernon could. If you were fortunate enough to ever get the attention of a label, you'd probably have all the resources you could ask for regardless - if that's even your goal. The more rustic production has its advantages as well and lends your work an air of authenticity and honesty that sometimes can get lost with sleeker production.

This reminded me significantly of latter-day Talk Talk on first listen, and I don't know if there's stronger praise I can give to music.
This is remarkable stuff.
Edit: The rustic production gives this record a naturalism and authenticity that is crucial for the sense of spirituality it conveys. It'd be a shame to depart from it too significantly in future records.
