Am I the only one who thinks that Lightning Strike is by far their best song and that had they pursued that direction they'd still be indie pop staples?

Indie pop is a stretch. They already had a huge hit. They would lose credibility among the pretentiously disillusioned indie fanbase who swoons over bands who chart low on the Billboard 200. Anyone who reaches the top 20 is considered a sell-out. I thought you learned that after Of Monsters and Men got big.

Huh? Indie-pop may not be the best descriptor but I don't think I agree with your views on fans of that kind of music. Also, indie-pop has tons of huge hits and popularity is not the antithesis of the genre.
