The Malkuth Grimoire is by far better than this, a let down for me, pretty boring imho.

2nd track is very Gojira-esque. And that chugging riff around the 5 minute mark floored me on my first listen.

with the chart being what it is atm, I wonder if it's going to be this year's "Termial Redux"?

I find this much better and more cohesive than Malkuth Grimoire.
Yea that chugging riff on the second track floored me on first listen too.
I can't argue with anyone calling this AOTY and I don't usually take that discussion seriously.

This is great yeah but the average needs to be brought back to earth hahaha.

I mean, Redux was still a 4.4 well after 100 ratings. While I’m not a huge fan of it, the band was bringing new energy to thrash in ways very few else were or still are. This record relative to its respective genre/s feels considerably less inspired. I guess it isn’t impossible but I’d be surprised if this is breaching 4 by the end of the year.

3.8-4 is where I'd expect it to end up.
