Appeal has some songs i really dont dig like hero of war and from heads unworthy but i have a big soft spot for collapse, savior, the dirt whispered and hairline fracture (those skiba vocals are barely audible but when i finally picked them up ive never been able to unhear them)
I really want to meet these guys just to tell them that i devoted like a day straight of listening to their music to count pickslides for science

hero of war might actually be their worst song from the previous decade
from heads unworthy is actually one of my highlights on that record though, and yea savior is cool

I like From Heads Unworthy as well. Hero of War is an acquired taste. The lyrics are the best and worst part. The delivery is a bit too straightforward for my taste. It's one of those love-it-hate-it ordeals.

The Good Left Undone is such a banger.

I always liked Hero Of War, so I'm really surprised people here don't like it. It's a favourite of mine actually

I'm not fussed by Hero Of War either, it's the low-point of the album I'd say.

hero of war is fine except for that one line... you know the one
appeal has a load of bangers tbh - re-education, audience of one, entertainment - there's just a couple of duds
what annoys me most about the newer stuff is you can hear they've still got it in a lot of the tracks but the ideas just don't come together, tracks like eco-terrorist in me sound straight off siren song
if they took like a 5 year gap between albums and put all the good stuff together it would be awesome

Hero of War lacks subtlety and depth. There are some points that are really good like, "...and I brought home that flag. Now it gathers dust, but it's a flag that I love -- the only flag I trust." Then there's, "They took off his clothes and pissed in his hands" which ruins the impact. The song has potential to be very contemplative and interesting, but that line ruins any room for thought.
