I agree with benkickass. Great review MADRIGAL. I love Shadows Fall and I will probably check this out eventually. Despite the comments saying they toned their technicality down a little I am sure I will still enjoy this.

Shadows Fall is'nt really metalcore like sure they sing with clean vocals in the chorus' once and a while but no other metalcore band solo's the way Jon and Matt do if anything trivium is more metalcore then Shadows Fall
|
| |
It's more than just the singing and soloing that makes them Melodic Death with Thrash influences.
SF isn't really metalcore. If they are, than they are some small relative to it.
But they are from that part of Boston.

They are Melodic Death/Thrash they were more on The Art Of Balance if I remember correctly.
|

This album is Thrash with Metalcore influences. But previously they were Melo Death/Thrash.

To mudvaynian: Sorry you didn't like the introduction. If you don't like them, simply scroll past them. There are many people that actually DON'T know that much about Shadows Fall nor the scene at that time, thus, I put that paragraph in there. I wouldn't waste my time writing an introduction like that unless I thought it had some kind of purpose to it, and I'm sure to someone it does.

I thought this was a great album, starting with going, going gone and every track after that.
When I first heard Teasn' Pleasn' (It was the first track I listened to on this CD) I thought, FUCK! I bought the wrong CD!.
Sounds nothing like them, but was very good.

They're cover songs. Of course it's not going to sound like them.

Metal bands shouldn't cover songs. It's fuckin weak to make money off of music you didn't write. If you wanna play cover songs then go right ahead, but don't slap them on an album and sell it.

I actually enjoy hearing cover songs from some of my favorite bands. Well stated Mudvaynian

That's the stupidest comment I've ever seen on this site.
And believe me, I've read every single one of my posts.

This is a good cd... it doesn't live up to the past albums, but it's definitely something worth picking up to listen too. I just hope their new album tops this one...
