another classic georgia tweet: "like, one dude criticised the vocals on the album and all i was thinking was “YOU try singing about your sexual assault, YOU try singing about your dead dad”. most of the vocals were done in one take and i should never have to justify that."
she has a scapegoat for everything eh? now if you think her vocals are awful you are callous and invalidating her trauma

God, that bassline in 'UFO Lighter' is tense. One of the few Camp Cope songs I hear the Tigers Jaw influence in, which I adore in Georgia's songwriting.

LMAO WHY DID YOU EDIT THAT COMMENT

Ah, I see - thanks for clarifying schoonda!
One user states in that section; "I find it endlessly amusing how they target "cis straight white men" even though everyone in the band is white, straight and cisgender."
I personally wouldn't make any assumptions like that, but the comment I pulled that quote from makes a ton of great points. That also clarifies the accusations of virtue signaling I seem to be getting from here, even though like I say in the review, I think the record is great on its own terms.

Animal and Real is great, too. I think the biggest problem I have with this album is the run from The Face of God to The Omen. I do like lethargic Camp Cope -- West Side Story is incredible -- but I don't think much interesting is happening musically in those sections.

I actually dig the Omen, and while Sagan-Indiana did nothing for me originally it's grown on me quite a bit. I think what sets West Side story apart from those tracks is that final outburst at the end of the song. There's just not enough musical variation on this one as there was on their self titled

yeah totally agreed blush. it gets reallllll samey and they seem to be substituting musical experimentation for lyrical messages. which is fine, def makes me wanna re-listen to this, just isn't as immediate as their first.
