Not many instruments at all on the new album, all samples, garageband, noises etc.
But it works really well.

Really liked the opener he released as a single can't remember the name, almost Youth Lagoon-esque

Yeah the first 2 tracks, Rose Eater and Ocean, were the 2 singles released and really set the tone for the album.

I was playing the album this morning and my Dad thought it sounded like Antony and the Johnsons, my lady thought it sounded a bit like Elbow, and my Mum enjoyed it too. So it's a thumbs up by 4 different musical tastes

I think my favorite YJ album is this one (S/T) and each one after that I've liked a little less than the previous and unfortunately for me that continues with the new one based on the first two songs. I mean it's pleasant enough, but it doesn't do a ton for me.

New one’s getting very lukewarm reception on RYM but I’m digging it quite a bit.

It's a mixed bag for me but I appreciate the experimentation for sure

New one is good indietronica, and nice for certain occasions. I think RYM, were expecting something crazy ambitious.
