Oh, that they did. It was pretty much one third Thunderbolt and two thirds classics, with the title tracks from Sacrifice and Battering Ram thrown in.

Are you referring to the lyrics?

I see what you mean.
In this musical genre I don't seek intellectual depth, just energy and pure fun. If the lyrics were the main focus I didn't listen to heavy metal.

Album is solid. They Played Rock and Roll, Title Track, and especially Secret of Flight rip. Just saw them open for Priest and they still rule hard.

Then playing alongside Priest is one of the best touring duo’s I’ve ever seen.

They were awesome on the Firepower tour, even if the crowd was utterly unresponsive when I saw them in Ottawa. The Secret of Flight is a classic imo, as is They Played Rock'n'Roll. Nosferatu is quite good too, but the rest didnt impress me that much.

Finally came around this one. It's a great metal album, not as good as Firepower but still, pretty decent.

Nice review. Legendary band, ok. But also a bit boring and simple. More old school r 'n r than true metal. I always miss something in their music: creativity, adventure, power.

Whoa, was really caught off guard by the vox on Predator. Worked really well though. Side note, anytime these guys touch on being a speed demon or that they play rock n roll I sigh deeply. Typically the weakest tracks on the album, though obviously not including their first few albums in that.
Finally finished my Saxon discog run. Really glad they recovered after the abysmal period of 85-95

Apparently, we'll be getting a new album as well as a covers album next year.
Band's made solid heavy metal starting from unleash the beast.
Well done to symbolicintime for actually sitting through bs like Solid Ball of Rock, Innocence Is No Excuse, and Forever Free.

Thanks lol at least Solid Ball of Rock has Crash Dive. Such a catchy bassline. Pretty much the only redeeming song from that time period

I'll be doing a discog run this weekend, but I'm sure as hell not doing chrono. Listening to 5 albums of butt rock back to back will be a very painful experience.
