Nice review Dewi, lot's of interesting info. I gave this a spin and it did nothing for me. Which surprised me, because this is my kind of thing. I'm glad to hear you say it's a grower. I'll give it another listen and see what happens... I do like how more bands seem to be combining strings into their sound these days.

Twig, it happened the same to me. Actually the first draft of the review was bashing the album for the lack of consistency, etc, but I isolated every track for a few plays and then listened to the whole thing. Somehow it changed how I felt about it.

The weird aggressive track is a bit out of place, but the rest is fairly consistent in town.

For me "Cursed" and "Marrow" are fairly more agressive than the rest, specially "Cursed" and then you have 2 really long tracks closing the album where half of one of them is just strings and noise. I love it now, but in the beginning I was like "wtf is going on here..."
