I would say he would fit better with Folk/Rock, seeing as how is music does have a slight rock n roll edge to it, though still being country.

I figured Other just because there are already a few country reviews under there.

But folk/rock is fine as well.

I want to vote for a Country genre to be added, just for ol' Johnny Cash.

Me to review American IV in the near future.

*looks at cover*

Did he really look that old in 1968?

This sucks how no one knows my opening and closing references .

Also, after listening to this again this morning, I can't believe that I forgot to mention "I Still Miss Someone". Excellent sad song.

Amazing review man. Not a big Cash fan aside from his Hurt cover, but I might get this.

I really disagree. Only a handful of these are absolute classics. I find the album dull in some places.

I was watching a Johnny Cash thing on muchmoremusic and it showed him watching a guy play some songs with a harmonica and guitar. Anynone know who this was? I have a hunch it was Bob Dylan because I think I heard his name plus Johnny got the kid an audition for Columbia.

I get it:D

I don't know why I didn't comment on it the first time around, but yes, Trailer Park Boys is brilliant and the opening and closing works well here.

Tailor Park Boys has to be the funniest show on tv ever. And the fact that it's Canadian only makes it more awesome.

Amazing album.

"...sorry for the interruption there, but this is being recorded for an album to be released on Columbia Records. So you can't say words like 'hell' or 'shit' *laughs*...they'll probably take that word out...what do you say, Bob?"

Hahaha.

But truly, an amazingly influential album.

nice reviewski. the atmosphere of this album in large part created by the crowd involvement is amazing, it makes you have that little feeling like your there. i haven't even listened to or been interested in too much johnny cash so far and i can still realize how awesome it is that such a great performance was able to be saved by being recorded live. plus, he's such a badass, especially for back then.
