It's definitely their most absorbing album all the way through, but I think there's a strong case that Tusk is more adventurous, simply by virtue of being completely unhinged from any commercial ambitions. I think Tusk has some of their best non-singe songs (Over & Over, Beautiful Child, What Makes You Think You're The One). Still, Rumours is just the more immediate album, and just plain beautiful whatever way you spin it. It's more consistent too. Tusk has a special place in my heart, though.

Yeah, I also love "Tusk". It's perhaps my second favourite album from them.

Silver Springs is the best song

Well, Dreams has that signature sound and it's probably one of their most known songs, their only number one ever, I believe. And it's just awesome, I love it (and Stevie Nicks's voice is just so wonderfully restrained on it, which it rarely is). Did anyone see the new Nerdwriter Video "How Fleetwood Mac Makes A Song"? It's not too in-depth, but you might learn something cool about the construction of Dreams you were wondering about.

Silver Springs has the best vocal performance, but The Chain is the best song.
...I mean of all time. Like it's literally one of the best songs ever written, not just by Fleetwood Mac.

The Chain is just a plain angry moment and I really love how it is bookended by two of the most straightforward love songs on the album (which are, by themselves, not straightforward at all), Songbird and You Make Loving Fun. How such a standout track comes right after one of the most covered slow ballads of all time and is followed by my favourite song on the album is just magic.
