I haven't even heard all their stuff but this inspired me to check out their remaining 50% of discog I've ignored
I mean maybe that's why this is a 4.7 to me because I haven't heard their very best...however, if Boy w/Arab Strap is their best then I still like this better

So new EP coming out next year it seems? Couldn't they have just waited a bit more and group it on an LP...
Anyway, enjoying this a lot.

It's a three EP series, 15 tracks in total. The reason it's not an LP is they said they wanted to shake things up and do something different.

Sweet Dew Lee is nice.
I think their recent stuff overall just sounds too polished, and I wish they'd pare back their sound a little bit and return to something more acoustic.

This is so gorgeous. They're amazing at writing melodies. That synth that unexpectedly drops in the middle and towards the end of sweet dew lee rules so hard. A soty for sure.

I get the criticisms surrounding their changes in recent years. At heart these guys have always written ridiculously good hooks with great production, though. Their last album was a misstep that this more than makes up for. It sounded like something that wouldn't be out of place at a Starbucks: not terrible, just inoffensively 'nice'. But this sounds like them really having fun with it again.

Yeah incredible EP. The first 3 songs are all amazing. Like I said before I don't have the most experience with the band but this is hands down my favorite release by them and has me excited for parts 2 and 3.

have you heard dear catastrophe waitress or life pursuit? overall sinister is prob my fave but those two come damn close. listening to "i'm a cuckoo" atm. still such a fantastic song.

Reviwer is delusional thinking this is anywhere as good as the 90's stuff. Stuart voice never sounded so tired, Sarah's sounds unprofessional as ever. Songs have no structure or interesting lyrics, the theme of the album is condescending and shows no maturity at all. In a first listen this may be the worst material released by Belle and Sebastian, I quickly changed it to Girls in Peace Time to remember the band is not completely dead yet.
None of the five songs here are any better than Allie, Party Line, Power of Three. Going further back, Does not even compare it to the power and punch of I should have seen it coming and I want the world to stop.
