I wonder if there's anything like this aside of Kalafina. Idols but leaning to epic characteristics instead of fun/tongue-in-cheek stuffs.

there's a handful of Maison Book Girl songs that scratch that itch, but they're largely a different fix

vocal renditions/covers/reinterpretations/etc of touhou songs by the community
too bad most of them are very amateurly produced

Ummmm... no? The vocal dynamic isn't as good Kalafina.

I vibe to the good songs on this
but this is potentially the only album ever where I'm gonna be that nerd and say I'd rather not listen to it outside of the context of the anime (which ironically doesn't even apply to the OST, which is better than Kalafina I'm sorry)

Turns out Abe was right this slaps. The Celtic/New Age vibes and vocalists make this stand out from just being a generic J-Pop affair.

If you mean the Kara no Kyoukai movies, I didn't enjoy them and I don't like listening to OSTs without the context so not worth for me.
