I was thinking of going to see these guys on tour, but they're looking for $175 a ticket. Don't think I need to help Bonno get another plane.

definitely don't blame you, lol

i watched that video jesper, and yep, they copied it. jesus christ

i wouldn't have that much of a problem with this if they indicated that onerepublic at least co-wrote the song with them. but as far as I can see on their website and on the SOE wikipedia page, they're trying to assume sole writing credit for summer of love. that's not right. if you can't even write your own songs anymore, that's fine. but say so

I still like a few of their albums but nothing from the 2000s/10s

I'm weird. I actually think the 2000s was their best decade in terms of solid consistency from album to album. I don't think many people would agree with me though, lol

there is a background vox credit on genius tho, I guess that's something

also the 00s might be my favourite U2 era as well. all that you can't leave behind is such an incredible record

I actually prefer atomic bomb overall to ATYCLB.

But i love the early 80's stuff, WAR is still my favourite.

Nice review. I like this and I definitely think it has some of U2's best work this side of ATYCLB but the more I listen the less interesting it becomes. Love "Get Out Of Your Own Way" and "The Little Things" especially. "Love is Bigger" is another really nice anthem but as a whole, the album is rather patchy. Even so, I enjoy it.

Although Bono's "ah ah ah ah"s in "Get Out" remind me of Taylor Swift's "Wildest Dreams." I hope I haven't ruined that song for anyone....

Good review Ollie, it was really well written until you went all passional on the fifth paragraph and then you let yourself go all the way to the end lol. Not a problem though, but I prefer your serious and impartial tone since you show you can pull it off in the first half.

I heard the singles and I wasn't pleased. Think I am done with this band for the time being. I will always love the classics though.

it’s better than innocence, october and rattle and hum

maybe no line its more consistent but has less good high points (and less embarrassing lowlights). so like, barely in their top 10 if even

october is so fucking boring to me. none of the songs on it are bad, but none of the songs are good either and nothing sticks out. it’s one of the most in one ear out the other albums ive ever heard, and theyre like the 2nd or 3rd band ive ever gotten into so believe me ive tried

rattle and hum is one of their worst imo. like three or four songs max, then some shitty covers, mediocre live performances and confusing interludes cement it for me as one of their lowest points

the like four good songs on it tho holy shit. if you took those and complied them with the joshua tree b sides, you’d have one hell of a record

agreed, and I usually love terrible puns

delivery is awful too

Bubs is right though, this is def better than October and SoI. Haven't heard R&H in ages so I'll forgo comment on that part.

EDIT: I'd also put this above Atomic Bomb; that one really loses me on the second half, this is more consistent

the high points off atom bomb demolish everything here but i guess this is probably more consistent. still probably prefer that one tho
