fuck ramon I wish I could find it, that sounds hilarious.
Yeah Art, I'm finding of all of their past and new material, this album is still my favorite stylistically. It's so bizarre and catchy and I can't get enough of it.

Thoughts on their new one? It's... different. I didn't really dig it upon first listen.

shitler is such a great song

Oh man just noticed they have a new song! Haven't listened to it yet. Not expecting to love is as much as I love this album's tracks but we'll see. Probably won't have time to sit down in silence to listen until tomorrow, rushing out without a minute to spare after work to AUGUST BURNS RED AND SILENT PLANET AND SILVERSTEIN BABY WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

they have a whole new album already. And have fun at the show man, I saw them recently and it was a blast.

Wait what's the new album called? I couldn't find it on the internet and it's not on Canadian Spotify
And hell yeah this was my 4th time seeing ABR and probably the best yet. The mixing was better than it's been before and they had even more energy than usual, which is saying something. Really great.

It's called Bearies Alive

Very curious what you think of it, I only jammed it once. And no wonder ABR were even better this time, they were mostly just playing Constellations! Escape Artist and Rationalist go so fucking haaaaaaaaaaard live, jesus fucking christ

idk why but the cover reminds me of a Goosebumps book or something

Does this band have like a mallet percussionist or something? I listened to one of their top songs on Spotify once, and it had either a xylophone or a vibraphone just poppin' off the whole entire song and it was sick.

Sorry Art, after looking for the song I realized that it wasn't by this band. I was thinking of the song The Black Page, by Pomegranate Tiger. I got the bands confused because I discovered them on the same day browsing Spotify, and also because both band names are fruit-related, lol.

Ooohhhh Berries Alive yes, I've listened a ton to that one. I really like it but it doesn't quite hold up to the last album for me.
Buuuuut it does have my favorite track of theirs. God Jammit is a perfect 10.

which track is that? have to rejam that one, but yeah, Fool's Gold was way more dynamic.

This is a super weird rec, but if you enjoy his melodies and highly specific way of singing/processing his voice, he reminds me a looooooot of another solo project called Comaduster. Atmospheric, melodic, progressive music with very similar vocals. His album Solace is highly addicting.
He's a friend of a friend in the sound design industry who worked with him on plenty of projects at BioWare from Mass Effect 2 onward. You can really hear this insane attention to detail in every song. Cool stuff.
Usually if a friend recommends a friend's band, I have to groan a bit and check it out and it's vaguely amateur and not something I can jam, but Solace by Comaduster is the one exception to that rule.

rejammed this today and holy shit it holds up.

enjoying this much more than the s/t tbh

My only real issue with this album overall is that the drums sound pretty damn synthetic, I think it's mostly in the kick drum, other than that everything is pretty solid, even the vocals are pretty good, clean and unclean

I agree with Artiswar this one is wayyy more dynamic than Bearies Alive, loving the ambient bits in particular on Fools Gold, struck a really nice balance between the usual chaotic nature of Berried Alive and the atmospheric parts as well
