Don't get me wrong, I love grindcore and metal, but these names are just totally absurd. Pig Destroyer? What the ****? Who sits down and says " Hey dude, lets name our band Pig Destroyer, that'll be br00tal"???

Um... Pig Destroyer isn't that bizzare of a name.

It's just a less blunt way of saying 'Cop Killer'.

"What makes this Grind?? It sounds like metal to me??"

Grind is pretty much a one-up to Hardcore, and it fuses thrash, death metal, and hardcore punk. A lot of the early acts were more hardcore than anything, though (ex. Extreme Noise Terror, (old) Napalm Death, Siege, Sore Throat, etc...).

Pig Destroyer is basically returning to the roots of Grindcore, but with a modern, more emotive edge. You wouldn't be wrong by calling it Metal, but it's kinda in the middle grounds.

Sorry, I'm just assuming you don't know Grind; I'm not trying to preach.

this CD is too br00tal for me. I've listened to it on and off, I still don't know how I feel about it.

This is more Deathgrind from what I've heard of it, but I need more. I crave it. Is the mew record any good? This Message Edited On 06.16.07

The term deathgrind is thrown around all too loosely these days.

To reiterate my last post, I do like this album, but I don't think it is one that can be played continuously.

Listened to this in its entirety last night. Truly awesome album, JR's lyrics add so much to their overall sound and presentation. I seriously can't fault this or much else of their work. The definitive modern grindcore band for sure.

I remember hearing some of this years ago and absolutely hating it, but now (since my taste in music has evolved dramatically) having heard a few clips it was awesome and unfortunately can't remove my rating, need to buy this.

So, I downloaded it and fuck me, I love this. This Message Edited On 01.18.08

This is the first album I have ever turned the volume down on, because it might scare the neighbours. Seriously f'ing scares me at times for some reason (when I'm reading through the lyrics too), and I absolutely love it.
