The recorded version of Laughing Stock shreds so hard, Jord fucking murders those drums and the outro is just madness

Their weakest post Less Talk/More Rock.

Desperately want to hear the studio version of Laughing Stock, the live version slays like a motherfucker.

Their weakest post Less Talk/More Rock.

Learned and cherished the band with Failed States, so I can safely say the new album feels inferior to Failed..., at least on first listens.

It is. But like I say, they've got a catalogue of albums to such a high standard that even if this is their worst since Less Talk, it's still awesome. lol

This album hasnt clicked yet, but their albums usually takes me a while to get into. Potemkin City Limits took me about 10 years to fully appreciate, now it's one of my favorites. Love that U2 intro on the last song!

nice one, Gonzo.. great write-up..

where do I start with these guys? and will I like them if most hardcore punk doesn't tickle me?

Cheers Butcher.

Hard to say, really. Anything before Today's Empire is ska-punk; Today's Empire onward is a blend of metal/hardcore and punk. I consider Today's Empire to be their best, but anything past Today's Empire is so damn consistent I'd say pick anywhere. Here could be a good start, because of the past creeping into it.

yeah this is solid. Love how this band balances punk ideals and openly admits their failures to achieve them (the closer, mostly).

@project just the menzos. possibly my top 2 aoty, though.

@butcher start with supporting caste. and these guys aren't really hardcore in the traditional sense. more of a punk/thrash hybrid.
