Has some balls yeah but its definitely getting overhyped. Pretty par the course for the style if we're being honest about it.

I'm just surprised by the initial average. They're not a bad band but I didn't think they really ever rocked the boat so to speak.

Pretty average musically with cringeworthy lyrics. Haunt Me and A Memory Misread are nice changes of pace but yeah I'm not feeling this at all.

By the way, I gotta call Doof out, did you seriously listen to this? There aren't any acoustic guitars my guy

I mean I might still give it a try sometime down the line but my expectations aren't too high. Seems like a solid 3 to 3.5 but I'm willing to keep an open mind.

this made me want to listen to Touche Amore again for the first time in a while so it's got that going for it.

After many listens, this is like a 3.8-3.9 for me, and just a bit better than the last one

"hell yes another chorts feature. keep killin it man"

"Amazing review man. Pos'd."
thanks homie!
Freak, this is pretty much touché but with not as cool lyrics and longer songs. Take that as you will, lol.

I like these guys a lot more than Touche Amore. these guys do a lot of shit I don't think Touche could write as well as imo Brendan Murphy is a lot better lyricist/vocalist than Bolm. IMO Bolm is tastelessly overt constantly. I know some people dig that about him but I can't stand it
but both bands are good

Great review man, this record bangs. The only minor negative for me is that I wish there were more clean sections like that part during Bouquet or melodic climaxes similar to the likes of Drown, Tragedy, or Solace off of their previous release.

counterparts=rip harder
touché=better lyrically/vocally

definitely prefer Brendan's vocals and lyrics more than Bolm's (though he's killer as well)

c'mon guys, this:
"You haunt me
You haunt me like an empty home
Priceless possession, I bring you with me wherever I go
Wander through me, rearranging my insides in search of sleep
So well rested, you forget to bring me with you when you leave"
or this:
"I made a pledge to myself,
If I was to raise my voice
To be direct as I can be
No matter what I may destroy.
But I can't say I haven't aged.
I've outgrown what I used to be.
I won't fake what is expected
To succeed with album three" *gags*
he even says it himself. too direct

stage four is the only reason i prefer his lyrics, although I'm yet to listen to counterparts discog in full. all ive heard is this, prophets, and the one with the long title and 4.0 average (but that was like a year ago so i remember none of it)
