yea the mix aint good so far. drums sound like shite. amazing to me that bands with endless budgets can still get shit production, where as my band has zero dollars and we do it right.

Nice job, Mercury. Way to jump right on this review. Just ordered it on CD, so thanks for whetting my appetite.

Wasting Light is so much better than this.

I loved Run, Make It Right, and the title track. The rest falls in between meh and ehh with some great moments unevenly sprinkled throughout

As I should have expected, this album rips for the first half, runs out of steam, then has a decent closer. Run through La Dee Da is a great stretch but I don't see this having a lot of staying power

Sounds pretty typical of the Foos. God why can't they recreate the energy they had from the 90s and early millennium?

it's because most of the people on the production side of things in major labels are dinosaurs who still exist under the notion that louder = better, when in reality it just makes the audio more compressed and static. it's infuriating but this is really nothing new for the foo fighters: http://dr.loudness-war.info/album/list?artist=Foo%20Fighters

Dave's a cool guy and all but I haven't liked a Foo Fighters album since the 90s.
