Yeah Hell I was unsure why this was under Angelo's name, but the rules around TV soundtracks seem to be arbitrary at best here so I just rolled with it
His score is incredible agreed, The Fireman and Accident / Farewell Theme are beautiful pieces of music. I'm upset it doesn't have that glitchy Aphex Twin esque tune that was playing when Dougie and the Mitchum Brothers were doing a conga line tho

Couldn't give less of a shit about twin peaks, but this dude knows how to make a fuckin soundtrack

What year is it?

Great review man, nicely done. "James Marshall's "Just You" is garbage, of course, an embarrassing relic of Season 2's most stupid indulgences" I don't know man, that scene is weird enough to have been intentionally bizarre, especially when the other instruments come in when its just him and a guitar lol, not to mention the voice...

thanks dude. and yeah it's def intentional especially because it's immediately followed by the utter horror of BOB crawling over the couch into the camera - still a trash song tho

I hate that American Woman isn't on this.
The fucking Conga line shit. I gotta research that.

@Rowan oh shit that's right, one of the creepiest moments by far

"BOB crawling over the couch into the camera"
The most disturbing scene recorded to film.

it really is BOB's most horrifying appearance, altho doppel-Laura in episode 29 has always been way scarier than BOB imo
@Jiggly the other disc has American Woman, the one featuring all of Badalamenti's score

Yeah that climbing over the couch scene is iconic. Makes my skin crawl just thinking about it

Ffffffffffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucccccccccccckkkkkk the finale
I don't know, I loved the season, but considering this may be the last Twin Peaks we will ever get after that 25 year long wait, I can't pretend that I'm ecstatic about how things ended. That was just mean. Great soundtrack throughout the season, though and I thoroughly enjoyed the ride.

This is worth it for James' song alone

I loved how it ended personally. David Lynch giving you some closure in episode 17, then pulling the rug out from under you in 18. I don't think most of us expected it but how else could it end? Twin Peaks has always had more questions than answers.

did anyone notice Dave Brubeck's "Take Five" during one of the early scenes of Dougie at the table for breakfast? Wonder if that made the OST? My friend just bought the CD, so I'm more excited to hear Angelo's stuff. "Slow 30s Room" (White Lodge ya?) is such a great composition. Great review!
|
| |
it's not on the OST
The worst part is that the American Woman remix is unavailable on streaming platforms
