Atreyu are a great band but I'm not so satisfied with their new album, they went from a great harmonizing sound with greeaat vocals to this really heavy almost instrumental. I agree with most of you when you say that they need more vocals and like that one other dude said "you can hear the bass", I think that they played the bass too loud. In concert they had their sound just right. Thank god they didn't blast the bass their also or i would have had a heart attack.

"Ex's and Oh's" sounds like their other stuff, but with more wank.

I'm glad they progressed and made this album. It's a huge step up musically from
anything they've done before. And the bass needs to be turned up, or else what's the
point in having him? This Message Edited On 06.11.06

If they need to turn up the bass to have him there then what was the point of having him before when the bass wasnt as loud, Im sure the album would have been better if they left the bass level at an average sound.

What's the point of having a bassist if he vanishes into the mix?

I will admit that I used to listen to them. Visions was an okay album. Suicide Notes was one of my favorite albums when it came out. The Curse was a little better but not by much only because they evolved their guitar skills better. But this crap album... they rushed it. You can tell. It feels and sounds like they rushed it. And now they are just complete crap.

I again ask my orginal question, what's the point of the bass if you can't hear him? This Message Edited On 06.12.06

I dont really have a problem with Alex's scream. I think its better than the drummer's singing voice, who is just trying to sound like every other metal-core "chorus voice." At least Alex is doin his own thing...
BTW...the Theft is the worst song Atreyu has ever made...This Message Edited On 06.12.06

A decent follow-up, but the guitars feel even more plastic than on "The Curse", not to mention the lyrical ineptude of all the people over in the Atreyu camp. I'm not ashamed to own it, but I was slightly let down. "The Theft" was pretty interesting, even though I didn't like it very much, I liked the experimentation.

I think alex kills this band, his screams are horrible.

Indeed, often it sounds like he has the hic-ups when he trys to scream. For example in Aint Love Grand

At least Alex is doin his own thing...
No, he isn't. He sounds like every other incompetent screamer.

I THINK BRABDON SHOULD HAVE LESS SINGING AND BRANDON MORE SCREAMING!!!!!
No, just no.
|

So yeah, Brandon doesn't scream...

I really do not know how people listen to this band, the singer is just so annoying.

They'd be decent without their screamer/ belcher.

XD
I like this album mainly for the guitars, drums, and because half of the other screaming bands suck (imo).

The first tune is pretty good but the rest is mostly average. I thought it was going to be better then the curse because of less songs and i think the curse had some real duds on it.
