They're Christians, but mostly in spirit than in music and lyrics now.
And judging by your As I Lay Crying avatar, you'll probably hate them anyways.

There is nothing wrong with satanism as long as it is presented in an way that is not meant for offense on another but as a mere opinion. Take Gorgoroth, that band is friggin amazing as far as I'm concerned and they're satatnic to the core, but they don't force their ideas on others so much as present them as their opinion. I hate Christians who force their ideas on others as much as satanists or any other religion. Zao doesn't do that (which is why I like them just as much as I do Gorgoroth), nor do most religous themed bands.
|
| |
cocaine, what do you mean by their lyrics
also, zao guest starred in shadows and that is where i dicovered them
unfortunately, cravinov, while satanic bands do not force their ideas on you(unlike slayer),their music still has many adverse effects on the listener

Well, that's the listeners problems. And Slayer don't force their ideas, they tell it like it from their view (and really, they're not real satanists).
|
| |
well what are they then

^^ You're correct. Most band sthat act satanic are really spewing crap out of their mouths. It's usually used as an attention grabber and nothing more for most bands.
|
| |
then why listen?
|
| |
Album Rating: 4.0
Because it has nothing to do with the music.
|
| |
actually it does. the lyrics are the back bone of music
|

Not in metal they aren't. Jesus, what kind of dank and disgusting hole are you living in?

He lives in a hole where Hawthrone Heights is considered good music. Brain Dead's
right though, lyrics don't matter that much in metal. Although it's good for the
lyrics to express emotions, most real metal heads don't care about WHAT they say,
as long as it's not written retarded. This Message Edited On 10.26.06

Yah, well this band is christian so you don't have to dwell on ur anti-satinism worries. Also, any of the bands that you would probably come across in these genres probably isn't true satanic music unless you actually dwell in the genres to look for bands like that. They really aren't that well known, and especially not in metalcore. If you were looking into black metal and MAYBE some death metal, you could come across satanic lyrics.
If you think stuff like this is satanic, senses fail's lyrics about killing their girlfriends might lead people to sacrifice goats also :-)

alright, dont get me started on HH, cause ill get you started on something retarded like A7X. And though the guitars are the standout, why would you scream if the vocals and lyrics arent important?
|

Not many real metalheads like A7X that much anyways so jab away.
They are important, but we don't judge bands based on lyrics in metal. It's all about the passion of playing the music, and of course the singing/ growling/ screaming plays a part in that, just no where near as big. Sure, if the vocals are good and the lyrics are well written, that's all fine and dandy. What the lyrics talk about or mean don't really affect most metal. If Cannibal Corpse did a love song the way tehy do all their music, I'd still listen to it. I could name some bands that don't even have to have lyrics and just mumble gibberish and I'd still like them (ex. Behemoth, Nile etc.).
My point being, what matters in metal is good music (guitar, bass, drums, the whole shibang), vocals (that are passionatly sung/ growled/ screamed and sound good), production quality (good or bad can help the music acheive a certain sound), and well written lyrics (writing is part of the art of making music you know). Note that what the lyrics actually say are not a part of that list. End of long a** comment.

This CD really grew on me. At first I hated it and couldn't believe it was my favorite band, but now I love it. All tracks are good, but "Killing Time 'Til It's Time to Die" is my favorite.
Also, isn't the title supposed to be The Fear That* Keeps Us Here? I have it on my iPod, and that's what the gracenote CDDB labeled it as.
|
| |
Well the grace note is gay. the album art says "The Fear Is What Keeps Us Here"
