Fantastic review, jack, as ever you have a lovely control of language. If I could critique anything, the way you use semicolons is still unnecessary, I feel, and could often replaced with commas, or even dashes, as is in the case of "this music is neurotic; an exposed nerve in Yoni Wolf’s back catalogue". If this sentence argues this album is "an exposed nerve in Yoni Wolf's back," it doesn't say it directly, because the semicolon disconnects the two thoughts more than a comma might. Even a colon would work better, I think.
Otherwise, this is a characteristically intriguing and well-written piece. I love so much the way you contextualise it as "a critique of urban docility," and without describing too much manage to represent the feel -- and even to an extent the potential thesis/themes of the album. I never quite got that, though American Won/Too are some of the best examples you could've used.

thanksyouu!
with the semi-colon thing, i guess i always just read it out loud to see if it works in that position, while kind of ignoring the appropriate grammatical usage. that's not to say i should start being more careful with them, just an explanation. thanks again, all the love
