YES! I like Keiser a bit more than his other albums, but all of his work until Stargate is immaculate.
There is one interesting interview of Mortiis, where he describes the utterly insane writing process of those early albums:
"I only owned one keyboard, which was a roland jv30, so that was all that was used. I didn't have any way of recording parts or anything, so I invented this system where I would come up with parts, and write them down in a specific coloured pen, then I would come up with another part that I thought would work on top of the first part, a lot of this would play itself out in my head because I had no way of recording one part and overdubbing with another to see if it would work, i would then write down the second part in another colour, and so on, for loads of layers...on and on for layers and layers for 20-25 minutes."

Thanks for reading (:
First three albums + the demo are all fantastic imo. Not as fussed with Stargate, though I do enjoy it. That interview excerpt is really interesting, kinda reminds me of a method I heard Varg talk about using, where he'd hum the second guitar part to himself while playing the first. Can't imagine composing like that would be easy.

I saw Mortiis live on his current Era I tour. Sadly there weren't a lot of people at the gig, seems like DS listeners like to dwell at home rather than go to places. Who would have thought!

Oh sweet (: I saw him up in Brisbane a couple months ago, awesome show. There was about 70 people there maybe, decent crowd.

The show itself was good, albeit a bit short. I always wonder if Mortiis actually 'plays' anything or just presses one button at the beginning and then starts checking his emails.

Saw him last night and it was great. He was definitely into it and played some great compositions. Opener Graveren was also really good with a floor tom and crash + electronics setup (his stuff is bit more minimalist but still great). Check him out if you haven't: https://graveren-dungeon-synth.bandcamp.com/
