I listened to a handful of the singles and if those are any indication the 1s are definitely warranted.

Wow. Two reviews of this album now and both give it a 1 out of 5. Can Linkin Park possibly have gotten that bad? I'm not ready to believe it yet.

No shit there's worse out there and I even wrote the other 1 review on this going into immense detail why this is a 1. It drops .5 for me based on the principle of the band caring more about money and letting their record label take over the band than integrity
|

Yeah because integrity pays the bills. Wtf even is integrity in music? Living poor to please a minority of fans who cling to nostalgia? Get off your high horse

TVC15, thanks for the link! Those are HTML tags lol.
Gyromania - who really is on the high horse here? The fans who are disappointed with the mediocre and uninspired music, or the band who admonishes them for expecting something better?

Good review. I mean, it's not like this band hasn't ever tried to do whatever is trendy with the times, but at least they tried with past releases. This, on the other hand, has zero creativity, angst, energy, heart... whatever. There's def worst out there, but this is shit as shit can be.

Appreciated the Tommy Wiseau reference

Great review, album is total trash. I have no idea why've they taken such a 180 degree turn after The Hunting Party.

My initial impression of this review... "I don't like this album because Chester said something mean to 'fans'."
The rest of the review... "Why is LP making pop music. Buncha sellouts."
Read the comments... "Don't forget, Chester said other mean things too."
The petulance surrounding this album is going to be insufferable, if it isn't already.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think this is particularly good pop music, but it's not 1/5. My only beef is that Linkin Park have always been pretty bad at coming up with meaningful lyrics in their music, and they're at the forefront here. No aggression, or speed, or instrumental work to cover it up.
Then again, lyrically most pop music is vapid af. So I guess Linkin Park is right there in the thick of it.

I don't have to, it's obvious.

I'm not trashing LP for making pop music. There's plenty of god pop out there. But I definitely oppose the production of such uninspired, half-assed and blatantly commercial music. Most of my review is dedicated more to point out the weakness of their pop, followed by a well-deserved rant.
1-2/5 doesn't really differ much, and lower points for actually being a band I liked once.
It took 6 members to make this shit?
