I think I love everything here except for that cringey spoken word shit. That's a big ole' skip every single time.

I'm pleasantly surprised by this album. The singles had me scared, but the rest of the album is actually pretty damn good. Like the review says, it at least deserves a chance to impress. Yes, it's their worst album, but the later half works really well. I can see this growing on me hard with continued listens.

cory's thing was creative writing before music so like it's not surprising that the spoken word stuff remained - he's alright - would be cool to see him draw from that scene more in terms of lyrics because there are some fire spoken word artists (also a lot of monotonous shit - but like that is with everything - but like the quality of lines on average in spoken word is better than this scene haha)
however this is what i've been listening to for the last week haha

I guess Kurt really was the glue that held the band together, cause this didn't capture me at all. very huge step down from their previous two albums which were fantastic. RIP

There is only one spoken word part on this. As much as I was able to enjoy their last record, the spoken word stuff got on my nerves a little, as well, so I was glad to see a lot less of it here.
Actually, after having listened to this like 5 times I quite like a lot on here. Even the first half, although straying away from their less conventional style of post-hardcore, was post-hardcore done well imo.

I actually enjoyed this quite a bit. Gives me vibes of Chiodos Illuminaudio and there was something else I thought of that I can't remember at the moment.

I figured it out! Trace the Lines in the beginning sounds eerily similar to Rory by Foxing

Yeah, "The Smoother the Stone" is pretty rough. Overall, this whole album feels like imitation Saosin.

How did they end up improving so much?! I'm not sure! Maybe by dropping the tropes of a genre they were growing out of

One website's users' average ratings don't really change my personal opinion of it! I'm usually the one hating the direction a favorite band has been heading in, so this is a nice treat to actually see them do a 180.
