Appreciate it, Blush, as always.
And Lucid, I would say Hoova and Un U.K. are essential listens in 2017 as stand-alone tracks, but the entire album isn't really, necessarily, unless you're already a fan of his.

Yeah I haven't clicked with his music so haven't found an incentive. A couple of essential tracks is encouraging enough to check out the full thing, I'll probably give it a DL

just feels too jammy and unstructured at times, doesn't feel cohesive to me compared to his other stuff. production sounds great but not feeling it so much musically

The second half is amazing.

Butterfly Prowler is one of the best tracks for sure.
"too jammy and unstructured" is a fair criticism for virtually Clarks entire discography but after seeing him live everything just sort of clicked and I kind of got some insights into his creative vision. And I think this album is the closest he's come so far to fully realizing that vision. I really like the deconstruction of genre expectations coming from the likes of him, Leon Vynehall, and Lapalux currently, it's challenging, suffocating, and demands patience but thats also what makes it so rewarding and compelling.

hell yeah, that pulsing synth loop has been stuck in my head for weeks. Clark isn't my favorite "IDM" artist (admittedly i still need to give Body Riddle and Totems Flare some more listens) but i find the subtleties on this to be mesmerizing. his blending of that style with more straight up techno/house on the first half gives it a danceable groove that's kinda rare in the genre. also does the first 2 minutes of Hoova remind you of a long lost Foley Room era Amon Tobin intro?
damn i honestly forgot about Lapalux somehow, i used to listen to Forest EP and Nostalchic all the time. your lists are deeply missed btw
