this is a good review, people like pointing to why Kendrick does the things he does in his music while at the same time ignoring that notion in other artists. it's probably the only reason you have any negs.

This is a good review, you make good points, not sure I agree with most of it. Also a 2.5 would assume some redeeming qualities, all your points seem negative.
It's already been pointed out, but Mike Will Made It produced 2-3 of the 14 tracks, so that point is moot.

Yeah this album blows so hard its not even funny. Kendrick used to have soul to his demeanour. It sounds like he sold it for a bigger paycheck here.

it has some ridiculously inaccurate arguments that suggest that the listener only gave the album between one-three spins.
I listened to the album 4 times before I wrote the review, which considering its been out for less than a week, is quite a bit. My opinion didn't change between the second and fourth, so I decided I would write the review. Considering it only took me about 3 listens to comprehend TPAB, which is a far more layered/detailed album than this, I think it's fair game.

This is about as subjective as points get, but I also feel the underlying ominous production on ELEMENT makes the lyrical content you quoted quite different than a "stoop to other rapper's level".
The lyrics may be indeed very similar but I feel the presentation is quite different.

This review reads more like a 3 imo. But it was really refreshing to read someone else with this opinion articulate it on sputnik. And hey, this is pretty well written, so don't pay any mind to the butt-hurt dick-riders that are blind to this album's many weaknesses that gave your review a negative vote. You did good work here, especially in going against the grain of the legions of hyper-machine fools. Keep it up.
