I'd usually agree with separating shitty actions from music, but the lyrical content gets pretty repulsive when you know about him. This makes both of his albums unlistenable for me. Not going to pos or neg your review because despite this, it's still well-written.

Separating the artist from the music is an argument reserved for musicians who are assholes in public, have differing views from you, or something similar to that effect which may make it hard to judge their music fairly. It should not be an argument reserved for pedophiles like this man or rapists like Ian Watkins, that's an extreme end of the spectrum.
You should not have to pay $9.99 to hear Jake saying he's sorry and mulling about the fact his dog died. There is not a single thing about this album or his behavior online as of his return that suggests that he is really sorry.

I've seen some of the things he's said in his defense. It was laughable.

“Why do we care if entertainers are bad people?”
Well, out of principle, I generally opt out of supporting bad people. It purveys the notion that such people, those in the spotlight specifically, are above treating their fellow fans, loved ones, or quite simply the general public with respect and decency. Is Jake Mcelfresh a bad person? Signs certainly point to yes in light of the allegations against him, but I'm at odds with his motivations being sinister in nature or guided by a desperate plea for companionship from literally anyone who will listen. Regardless, his actions are inexcusable.
The problem herein, however, is regardless of his motives, you can't reeeeeeally blame people for having a bad taste in their mouth after what he's been accused of doing (not sure if charges have been filed, sentences issues, etc). I know he has admitted to some things that are by significant standards considered as sexual violations, and that makes his music particularly hard to listen to, straight up. I believe it will take a tremendous amount of well-doing and speaking out against his own actions before anyone really starts to take him seriously as an artist again.

Write a rhyme not a pick up line, punk
Give me that pen
I don’t want to hear a verse about you and a girl
And how she is your new best friend
Oh how it’s “Hard to handle” the heat from your scandal
Couldn’t wait for an 18th candle, now I’m gonna make you an example
It’s crazy how sympathetic people are with your ways
You should have been a lawyer, ‘cause you can talk for days
Smile, blue ribbon for the P.I.G
Take him out to the slaughter house, it’s time for you to D.I.E

"(not sure if charges have been filed, sentences issues, etc)"
he is very adamant about the fact that none of those things have been brought up against him. going as far as challenging anyone with proof that he's done such things (less so on the sexting thing, more so on other accusations brought against him) he's accused of to go to their police and show them that he is something needing to be arrest. funnily enough, he did it on a post that was supposed to be an apology but w/e.
' I believe it will take a tremendous amount of well-doing and speaking out against his own actions before anyone really starts to take him seriously as an artist again.'
he sure is doing an awful job lmao

Well-written review, mate. Couldn't bring myself to listen and enjoy this, though it's not awful from what I have heard, but well-written review as usual regardless.
