I think I disagree with everything in this review. I like The Unraveling, Unknown.Despair.Lost, and Karasu, while I think The Final and Kasumi are both inferior to the originals. Bottom of Death Valley is fantastic, however.

I really can't see how people can think the original Karasu is better than the new one, the old one is like a demo version in comparison and it feels so much fleshed out with its builds and insane vocal performance.

It's because Karasu has some fucking horrible transitions.

Anything other than the verses sounds strange to me. To be fair, "fucking horrible" is an exaggeration, that song has more of a tonal clash than bad transistions, it's "Unknown. Despair. Lost" that contains the horrible transitions.

I don't see the problem here, the verses build slowly with a bass lead broody atmosphere then explodes with a monstrous tribal like chorus. It isn't like it's a gash forced genre change, it still feels like the same song. As for Despair, the song is so janky and off kilter the sudden transitions work perfectly for me. Like when you have the calm quiet guitar in the intro suddenly turn into the huge guitar riff with the clanky bass is such a "Holy shit" moment that it hypes me up for the whole song. Disorientating but the song never feels incohesive which is why it's one of my favs here.

Sorry man, I don't see it. The novelty of this one wore off on me after a few years. Still great, just not up there with the big three.

What novelty?
I find it funny how our progression are reversals of eachother. You had it 5'ed then a 3.5 now, while I had it at a 3.5 and have it 5'ed now lol

My 3 disc of this came in the mail today; £22. Macabre is worth that alone.

I've never had something held there for so long, no idea what happened to them lately.
The Mode of Macabre disc will most likely have such a visually arresting performance for that song.

Amazon calc. It's my go-to for dir stuff; after a few years you can find their stuff pretty cheap on there marked as good and it's pretty much brand new, with seal.

Sweet find.
Also, the Vestige documentary has no subs, so we will have to wait for dedicated fans to translate more stuff.
