Yeah; realistically there's a lot of things that would make it incredibly difficult, if not impossible to acclimate to life in Japan. (I'm covered with tattoos for one, which is a huge no-no to have them exposed in public, not to mention that normally I'm a huge tipper at restaurants and tipping in Japan is the same as saying "your service was shitty.")

I felt it was an apt choice for a summary, given the themes of the album, the album title, and the content of the review.

haha people will think your yakuza from afar until they realize you're covered in pokemon (iirc)
it's like i respect their culture and find it intriguing from afar because it's so alien to me but I'm definitely thankful I didn't grow up in it. Obviously there's some strong bias there but still with my general jocular personality Id probably end up offending people inadvertently and shit all the time. I'll probably holiday there at some point tho

Oh I'm definitely going to vacation in Japan at some point in my life, I want to spend at least a year of my life in Japan if I can't live there. I joke constantly myself, so I'd have to learn to tone it down around the locals. As is though by the time I go there I doubt my Japanese would be fluent enough to avidly joke around with the locals lol.

Excellent album, nice review. Having been lonely and depressed in a Japanese city before, it's always seemed to capture that feeling perfectly for me. I'm in the minority that likes Rain Temple slightly more, though.

Hmm, I'll have to give this a listen. I've dabbled in vaporwave, and mostly enjoyed what I've heard. Haven't really sunk my teeth into it though.

this is way more akin to ambient than trap vaporwave though, it's essentially an ambient album with minimal percussion punctuated on a few tracks.
I think Rain Temple lost the quaint charm this one managed to capture, it sounds like much more generic electronica and is quite overproduced imo but it's still enjoyable.

I'm enjoying this so far. Nice soundtrack to go along with my writing.

From what I've heard it's probably too minimalist for my taste

I don't even have to quote my past idiocy, Fripp just did.
