Nevermind them Johnny, I think you hit the only review notes worth hitting and you did that by telling it how it is; shit. The Chilli's are shrivelin up and turnin a horrible shade of green

I htink this is jsut as good as their older stuff
but im not one to neg a review jsut because i disagree
edit it a bit, flesh this out, and it could be a very well written review

I think this review is good but i disagree with things like ' Well, given that I thought their massive international mega-hit By The Way was possibly the sloppiest, laziest knock-off dollop of self-impersonation I’d ever heard from a band that was once vital' is complete bollocks
they have alwys been good and by the way was just as good if not better than their previous stuff. This album is really good

Its a poor review, you certainly dont justify you reasons very well, and you views unfounded. The last seven years for the RHCP are the amongst the best producing nt only many hits, but drawing me into their music.

Despite the lack of details, this is stunningly well-written for a first review. It certainly beats the s**t out of my first review.

It would be a good review if it was justified, this is a great album and if i was reading this without hearing the album first i wouldn't think of touching the album, you don't say anything about the sound or overall feel of the two discs.

The thing about the review is that it offers nothing by way of information about the contents of the album for the reader who has not yet heard the album. I had not heard this album yet. At all. And the review didn't give me an idea of it one way or another except for the reviewer spouting his very thin opinions about it. It is well written, but very brief and lacking in detail and information. I finally picked this up today because of all the hoopla over it and I'm a little over halfway through it. By no means is the rating of 2 justified, IMO. Just my opinion, but I do have ears. And this album is good. And then some. At the very least. The Chili's have been doing this for 25 years. The days of BSSM and Mojo Uplift Party Plan are over. And I think what they have to offer today is just as stimulating. This Message Edited On 06.03.06

Upon hearing the album now for the first time ever and in it's entirety, this review makes little or no sense to me. I hear nothing different then I've heard from the Chili's on the last two albums. Except by way of improvment, and there is more of it. And that's a very good thing. Great album. I hear good songs. And I like the lyrics. Really nice work they did here. They are not going backward, although some would like them to from the sound of it. And that is not what this band has ever been about. This Message Edited On 06.03.06

oh man that was a terrible review of a great album

To all those who are starting to crap on this album; give it time. I wasn't big on it when I first got it but it has been growing on me steadily. People should really sit and listen to an album for a few weeks before they jump to review it, especially an album as highy anticipated as this.
As for this review, it is poor and unjustfied. Eloquent language does not compensate for a complete lack of information regarding why this album deserves a 'poor' rating (which it doesnt)

i know im no great reviewer (seeing as i only got one and that aint too great) but i dont think this review is very good. I'll admit i probably couldnt do much better but you could have described some of the songs more and described the general feel cause if i hadnt listened to this before all i would know is there is bad lyrics and good instrumental.

You guys are acting like this is the worst review in history or something. Calm down.

No they're not. They're expressing what they believe is wrong with it. They aren't attacking him or calling him gay or anything.

We are giving him constructive critisism, not being rude or over the top. For a first review it simply needs finer detail like backing up points.

This is a review a lot of us could aspire to. It's funny, well constructed and well written. It condenses a double disc album into a few paragraphs convincingly. It's to the point like no other review on this site. Plus I got a perfect glimpse into what the reviewer thought of the music. The review score is perfectly justified in the review.
Whether the album deserves a 2 or not, I can't say. I will say that I really hope you write more reviews for the site.

Hey, am I one of the only ones that thinks that it's not a bad review? I'm not going to say anything bad about it. The fact is that he just didn't like the cd. There's nothing wrong with that, and it's no reason to post negative comments about his review.
Anyways, not a bad review, but it could've been more descriptive.

Meh to this review. You seem to have some sort of grudge with Anthony for whatever reason.
Its a good album.

I was reading this review not looking at the scroll bar on the right, and all of a sudden it was over. It was going so well and I was waiting eagerly for some reasons to back up my judgement to avoid this album but they didn't arrive!
