Gonna respectfully disagree with you, I found this album to full of personality, and I couldn't detect the tiniest bit of filler. I think this album is better than Burials, Burials was great, but Burials didn't feel like an AFI album to me, it was too cold and heartless, when I listen to it I don't feel like I'm listening to an AFI record, with The Blood Album, it felt like AFI were in the room with me, I felt the same as I did when I heard Sing the Sorrow for the first time. Review is great, but I have to disagree on almost all the points you made. Kinda bummed the first review for this is a negative one

I feel like I've been giving 2s, 2.5s, and at best 3s lately. Perhaps I am just a bitter asshole

"write one fam"
Planning on, but I take an exceptionally long time to churn out a review, and typically they're nothing more than rambles that contradict themselves. Still gonna try though, maybe this one will be my big break

I've really enjoyed this album so far to be honest. But the album has no consistency, it's like they all went into a room and said "lets write an art of drowning song, a sing the sorrow song, a decemberunderground song, a burials song".....nothing connects. Songs are good standalone but as an album its disjointed.

Review is very well written even if I happen to disagree with most of it. Though I am a weirdo who's favorite AFI album is Crash Love, so maybe that's why I'm digging this so much. The only thing that really bugs me about the album is that it's missing a really cool, atmospheric opener like they had on Sing The Sorrow, Decemberunderground, and Burials. Those are often some of my favorite AFI tracks.

Gotta agree with this review for the most part. Still a Stranger and Snowcats I thought were both pretty neat.
