Yeah, this album had no filler, unlike Ashes of the Wake, which I felt had a few unecessary songs (One Gun and What I've Become). Those songs are just so generic and didn't really add anything, whereas every song on here is an essential to the release.

I agree with Thor about "ashes of the wake". Its a good album but some of it seems sooooooooooooooo thrown together IMO.

Omerta is undoubtedly the worst Lamb of God song ever written. Not counting the entire New American Gospel album, of course. Then again, aside from the thrown together tracks, AOTW has some of the bands best songs ever, so it's a pretty inconsistent album. Good though - I've been listening to it a lot lately.

I actually liked Omerta for it's simple heaviness and catchiness. Sure, it's really standard, but I still get a kick out of it every now and then.

As far as the best songs on AOTW go, I'd say that they are: Laid to Rest, Hourglass, Blood of the Scribe, and Break You.

To Thor:

You forgot the instrumental "Ashes of The Wake" in your list of best songs. That IS the best song on AOTW. It goes to show that LoG is in fact, a mainly instrumental band. (As they said themselves)

Oh and I forgot to say that I like Omerta for some reason too...dunno why.

mudvaynian, you don't like Blood Junkie or Vigil? I love those tracks, as they are both very heavy and get me pumped up every time I listen to them.

chug-chugga-chug chug-chuggaaa chug chug.

I just wrote a song for them.

I do like this album though. But I hate them live. Especially Randy.

'A Devil in God's Country' is pretty sick.

EDIT #2: Ok and yea, what is up with calling a 'bridge' a 'breakdown'? Am I missing something here? Cause that bugs the s*it out of me!This Message Edited On 07.19.06

Yea, it's just whenever someone would say 'Dude check out this breakdown!' It'd be like where a bridge would pop up. And I'd say '...isn't that just a bridge' and they'd be like 'A bridge? It's called a breakdown, moron!'. Hence my hatred for the term 'breakdown'.

And yes, Wikipedia has everything. Sometimes it just blows my mind what they got stockpiled in there...
